We’re now ten days into the spooky month of October and I’ve had quite a bit of fun traveling the World Wide Web during my Devil’s Nightmare Halloween Blog Tour. On Monday I visited A Writer’s Journeyfor a guest post to talk about the top five things I’ve learned as an author. If you missed it, you can read it HERE. You can also check out the rest of my blog tour schedule below.
Today, I’m hopping onto a plane and traveling to Canada for an interview at Fear Not The Darkness for a discussion about my horror novels and a little bit about me as an author. I’ve reserved first class seats for you to join me, so hop on board (ahem . . . click on the plane) and enjoy the champagne.
We’re now into Week 2 of my Devil’s Nightmare Halloween Blog Tour. Last week I traveled to Colorado for an interview with author Jack D. Albrecht Jr., and I also announced the Devil’s Nightmare Pumpkin Carving Contest, which should be loads of fun. I’m going to continue traveling around the world throughout the month. You can check the tour schedule below.
To kick off the tour this week, I’m back in Texas to take over my buddy Nat Russo’s website A Writer’s Journey. My guest post will cover the Top 5 things I’ve learned as an author. Click on Nat’s Erindor Press logo below to read the post.
DEVIL’S NIGHTMARE PUMPKIN CARVING CONTEST October 4-18, 2014
A few days ago, during my interview over at An Author’s Ramblings, I announced that I’m going to have a PUMPKIN CARVING CONTEST to test your knifing skills. I want to thank Patty Allread at My Cooking Life for this fun idea. Many of you are probably already planning on hitting the pumpkin patches anyway, so why not also enter your Jack-o-Lantern into a contest? If you think you have what it takes to carve the coolest or scariest pumpkin, then I challenge you to participate.
So, here’s how it’ll work:
You’ll slice up your pumpkin and post a photo of you with your work of art to my Facebook author event page HERE or via Twitter HERE. Be sure to name your pumpkin (used for voting purposes) and include the hashtag #DevilsNightmarePumpkins.
DEADLINE for submission is Saturday, October 18. I’ll then compile all of the submissions and then include them in a blog post on Monday, October 20 where the public will be able to vote for the best pumpkin carving.
Voting will end on Sunday, October 27 and I’ll announce the winner on Halloween.
I know this questions is burning on your mind now: So, what does the winner get? First of all, EVERY PARTICIPANT IS A WINNER, because everyone who carves a pumpkin and enters the contest will get a FREE Kindle version of my Amazon bestselling horror Devil’s Nightmare. If you don’t have a Kindle, you can still read it with a free Kindle reading app available for multiple devices HERE. One random participant will also win an autographed copy one of my books.
That’s awesome, but what about the grand prize? What does the person with the coolest pumpkin carving get? I’m a starving novelist, so no trips to Las Vegas or big screen TVs are up for grabs. However, I will be giving the winner a signed and personalized copy of Devil’s Nightmare and Devil’s Nightmare: Premonitions. Plus, you’ll have the pride of knowing your pumpkin was selected as the coolest pumpkin in the world!
So, what are you waiting for? Start slicing up that pumpkin and post those pics! I look forward to seeing what you all submit.
All throughout the spooky month of October I’m going to be traveling around the world for a “Halloween Blog Tour” in order to help promote my horror novel Devil’s Nightmareand its sequel Devil’s Nightmare: Premonitions, which is scheduled to publish on October 14, just two weeks from now.
To kick off the blog tour I’m chatting with author Jack D. Albrecht Jr., the mastermind behind the very popular Osric’s Wand fantasy series. We’ll be discussing my upcoming horror novel, a cool pumpkin carving contest, and my frightening cooking skills. Well, let’s get this show on the road, so hop on the tour bus (okay, click on the bus) so I can magically transport you to Jack’s realm, aptly called An Author’s Ramblings, in Colorado. Be sure to be bring a sweater and an umbrella on board, because it might get a little chilly and wet today.
You’ll want to download this mystery bundle before the offer disappears! Not only do you decide what you’re going to pay for the books, you can allocate a portion to charity.
There are 8 available titles and they include authors who have reached the New York Times or USA Today Bestseller lists or are mainstays of Amazon’s bestseller lists. You’ll also find an impressive variety of protagonists and situations, but all continue to deliver beyond the initial punch with stories that get readers invested and continually turning the pages. From rogue detectives to tough-as-nails cops, a mother whose son has been kidnapped to rookies meant for something more, struggling FBI agents to savvy criminal investigators, special ops to private eyes, there’s only one conclusion to draw: the criminals out there don’t know what they’re up against.
Are you a blogger? If you’re willing to share this post on your site, you will be gifted these books at no cost to you! Sign up hereif you’re interested in helping to spread the word about this StoryBundle.
I’m beginning to pack my virtual bags for my month-long trip around the world for my Devil’s Nightmare Halloween Blog Tour. For those interested (which is everyone that follows this blog, of course), here is the confirmed schedule that I have so far:
As you can see, I stick to no particular route. Thank goodness these are virtual travels or else my tour bus driver would slap me on the back of the head. As more locations are added, I’ll update this list.
I hope to see you on this tour. And be sure to pre-order your copy of Devil’s Nightmare: PremonitionsHERE or start with the first book HERE.
Halloween is just around the corner, and with that comes the release of Devil’s Nightmare: Premonitions, the sequel to my Amazon bestselling horror Devil’s Nightmare. To celebrate and help promote the launch of the sequel and help bring new readership to the first book, I am going to be traveling around the world wide web from October 1 to October 31. Where will I be going on tour, you ask? Well, that’s where my fellow bloggers come in.
I’m looking for folks that would be interested in hosting me on their sites for an interview, guest post, author spotlight, or juggling act (whatever works best for your site). If you would like to be a part of the Devil’s Nightmare Halloween Blog Tour, please drop me a line in the comments with a link to your blog and best way to reach you (such as Twitter, official blog email, smoke signal coordinates, etc.).
Thank you in advance for those willing to participate!
For those of you who have read my first horror thriller Devil’s Nightmare and have been waiting for Devil’s Nightmare: Premonitions, I have great news to share. If you have a Kindle (or Kindle reading app) you can now pre-order the anticipated sequel today. I also have a release date. While the manuscript is still in the hands of my team of beta readers, Premonitions will hit the virtual book shelves on Tuesday, October 14 . . . just in time for Halloween. 🙂
Sequel to the Amazon bestselling horror Devil’s Nightmare, I’m bringing fans of the first novel another horrific thriller full of twists, chills, and a shocking conclusion. Aaron Sanders returns as the main protagonist in Devil’s Nightmare: Premonitions and is now employed with the Lost Maples County Sheriff’s Department. Adjusting to the slow pace of small town law enforcement is challenging for Aaron, but he is once again caught in the middle of a mysterious investigation that has an eerie familiarity. This time he knows what is responsible for the violent deaths . . . or does he? The chimera becomes the least of Aaron’s problems after something even more evil and malevolent begins to unleash its wrath in the once quaint little town of Lost Maples, Texas. Evil knows no boundaries and it is up to Aaron to figure out how to protect the residents of his community, and his family, from becoming its next victim.(more…)
This is actually from a tag on Facebook, but I thought I would share with my readers here at Sharkbait Writes. Enjoy!
My vampire-writing buddy Steven Montano tagged me with the #TheLuckySeven meme where you choose seven lines from either page 7 or 77 in your current work in progress and tag seven other writers to do the same. What the heck. I’d better participate or Steve will send a horde of vampires after me . . . and I’m not talking about the sparkly lovey-dovey kind either.
Okay, now that I have that taken care of, here are the first 7 lines (draft with spoiler edits ) from page 77 in my upcoming horror novel Devil’s Nightmare: Premonitions.
Aaron watched the man pound on the front door with his fist. “Christopher!” He looked behind him with fear in his eyes and yelled, “Open the damn door!”
Several explosions of thunder drowned out the sounds of the man’s screams when razor sharp claws tore into his back. The beast bit into the man’s right leg and jerked him backwards, causing him to fall onto his chest with his face hitting the wooden porch with force. A trail of blood followed a path away from the front door, which opened seconds too late.
